m learning oracle 9i. how relevant is 9i in d future coz oracle 11g is also dere.shud i gv 9i xam or 11g?
i am pursuing comp engg from mumbai and will be in the 3rd year frm july ..m leraning oracle 9i in the vacation and also will be giving its xams shud i directly go for 11g or 1stly give 9is xam . isnt it outdated ….and considering after 3 yrs will ma 9i certification have ne value …considering other versions of oracle would have come ….also 11 g has grid computing features i suppose ……i am confused please help me …
ideally, you should study the latest oracle version.. but 9i is ok since you need to study the basics first. Once you have mastered oracle 9i, going to 10g or even 11g will be a lot easier. As for the certifications/exams, I think 9i is sufficient for you to study at least for the Associate certification.
